Effective teaching is essential for better output in education system

It was commonly observed that teaching in our educational setting mostly focus on memorizing contents of education material rather than enhancing conceptual understanding and perception based learning. The resolution behind this piece of academic contribution was to investigate the capacity building of prospective teachers of all the institutions (male and female) and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for activity based teaching. In capacity building of prospective teachers, it covers the communication skills as a whole and the skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

 Effective teaching is essential for better output in education system

Effective teaching is essential for better output in education system. Well trained teachers with up to date knowledge of teaching techniques and methods perform better in educational settings. Professional degree awarding institutions that offer professional degrees in the subject of education are the trend setter in the field of education. Their alumni practically implement their professional knowledge that they gain from their parent institution. So, universities and GCETs (Government College for Elementary Teachers) that award professional qualifications in education, they contribute for the capacity building in Education for the future generation. Therefore, it is worthwhile to say that prospective teachers equipped with better communication skills and aware from the up to date teaching methods like activity based teaching are essential for state of the art education in the State of Pakistan and all the institutions (male and female) and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

This research on the topic is of theoretical and practical implications. It will be a positive contribution in the literature on capacity building in teaching and particularly about activity-based teaching. On the practical side, it will be very useful for educationists, curriculum designers, trainers, and policy makers in universities and professional degree awarding institutions in the subject of Education. Anyhow, on the basis of this research, no claim of comprehensiveness is made; however this study will highlight the capacity building of prospective teachers for activity-based teaching in our geographic perspectives.

1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The following are the objectives of the study;

  1. Evaluate communication skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for activity based teaching among prospective teachers at Pakistan and all institutes and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
  2. Explore the capacity building of prospective teachers for activities based teaching at University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and GCETs.

1.4 RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Following research questions will be design for the study;

  • Q1: Is activity based teaching helpful in enhancing the reading skills in prospective teachers at different institutes of Kashmir and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and GCETs.
  • Q2: Is activity based teaching helpful in enhancing the writing skills in prospective teachers at different institutes of Kashmir and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and GCETs.
  • Q3: Is activity based teaching helpful in enhancing the speaking skills in prospective teachers at different institutes of Kashmir and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and GCETs.
  • Q4: Is activity based teaching helpful in enhancing the listening skills in prospective teachers at different institutes of Kashmir and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and GCETs.
  • Q5: Is activity based teaching helpful in enhancing the communication  skills in prospective teachers at different institutes of Kashmir and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and GCETs.
