RAWALKOT: Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Jahangir Ahmed Jral has sentenced Basharat Hussain, a convict involved in a drug case, to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 in addition to non-payment of fine. The convict has also been given the benefit of Section 382-B of the Criminal Procedure Code. According to the details, a case under Section 9-B, CNSA was heard on August 24, 2019 in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Rawalkot in which Basharat Hussain son of Mir Hussain Qaum. Pothi, a resident of Quraysh, was found guilty. The case was prepared and filed by the then ASI Muhammad Hanif. In this case, the first inquiry of the accused was recorded on August 31, 2019. The accused denied the guilt and the prosecution testified. The prosecution summoned six witnesses in the case, including Inspector (SHO) Sardar Mohammad Ijaz Khan and ASI Mohammad Hanif Khan, who testified in court and asked the accused to support the case. Recorded on March 10, 2020, followed by a hearing on which the convict Basharat son of Mir Hussain decided the case. Sardar Wajid Hussain (APP) fought the case on behalf of the prosecution.
